I was hesitant at first to buy the game, but me just say that Sleeping Dogs is one of the greatest open-world games ever created.
It is absolutely shocking how underrated Sleeping Dogs is, considering how great it is.
In the game, you play as Wei Shen, an undercover cop from the United States. Shen travels to Hong Kong to infiltrate a gang called the Sun On Yee. To take the organization down, you need to show them that you are one of them by fighting rival gangs and taking down some of the biggest leaders. You’re torn apart from the police code and the gang’s code, which ends up in DRASTIC events.
Fun Fact: Sleeping Dogs’s cast includes Emma Stone and Lucy Liu, two Hollywood Celebrities!
Sleeping Dogs is hands-down a masterpiece, but why is it so underrated?
We see that Watch Dogs(2014) has sold about 10 million copies since January 2015, and GTA IV(2008) has sold about 6 million copies in its first week. When you look at Sleeping Dogs’s(which came out in 2012) sales, they only sold about 1.75 million copies in total.
Square Enix took a huge blow with this game, along with Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution. Their total loss was about $61 million.
Why should such a great game sit away like this? Sleeping Dogs, rated 8.5/10 on IGN deserves more glory!
