Until Dawn is Great!

Until Dawn, the newest PlayStation exclusive, was released on August 25th, is a fantastic game.

Introduction

Until Dawn is a survival adventure horror game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS4. The game concept was originally introduced for the PS3 and was supposed to be released last year, August 2014, but was reintroduced this year.

Plot

The game is about 8 friends who are trapped on a mountain, who just wanted to have fun. Things get eerie, and they find out they aren’t alone. The game plays until dawn, where you will play as all eight characters, and you’ll decide who lives and who dies.

Gameplay

The game revolves around a mechanic called the “butterfly effect” The butterfly effect is a scientific theory which states every single occurrence, every single choice, no matter how small your choice is, can change the direction of the universe forever. Some decisions are difficult, where you could sacrifice your friend for you to survive, or irrelevant choices, such as running up to your boyfriend, or throwing a snowball at him. The game obviously has a lot of replay value, where you can make choices and change the game from your first play through, where you WILL miss a lot. The game has an auto-save feature, where you can’t go back to another save file to try and save another character, which actually made me mad because I got a couple good characters killed. ūüė¶

Analysis

I love this game, a lot. I recommend it to anyone with a PS4 for sure. In my opinion, it is one of the best PlayStation exclusives out there, and you’ll have a lot of fun with the butterfly effect. As the game goes on, you’ll start to relate and like the characters, which will make you want to save them, only to end up pissed off when you couldn’t save them. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game, and you will to. Go play¬†it!
